A Personal Commitment
to Animals Without Voices
Without Voices is a global animal emergency fund, created from a lifetime of connection to animals and a deep belief that no animal should die simply because funding couldn’t arrive in time.
I am Bruce Stander. I grew up in South Africa, where animals were part of daily life from an early age. Dogs in particular shaped much of who I am. I was raised around them, bred German Shepherds, and learned firsthand the bond, loyalty, and trust that animals give freely to humans.
My professional background began in service. I served in a specialist first response unit as part of a K9 team, where discipline, responsibility, and protection were not just concepts but daily realities. Working alongside dogs in high-pressure environments reinforced something I had always known. Animals give everything they have, without expectation, and without a voice of their own.

That understanding stayed with me long after my service ended.
Why This Matters
Around the world, countless animals suffer quietly. Some are injured and in desperate need of medical care. Some are neglected or hungry. Some are deeply loved but live with families who simply cannot afford to feed them properly or cover unexpected veterinary costs. In all of these cases, the animals are innocent, vulnerable, and unheard.
I have always believed in advocating for better treatment of animals and standing firmly against cruelty. For many years, I carried the idea of creating something meaningful that could help at scale, something that could bridge compassion with action. Without Voices is that commitment brought to life.
The Moment That Changed Everything
In 2026, that long-held idea became impossible to ignore.
I watched a video about a dog named Tiny, shared by KZN Valley Dogs, an organization that feeds animals in valley communities near where I once lived in South Africa. The video showed Tiny in a condition no animal should ever endure. It hit hard.
In that moment, I realized that thinking about helping was no longer enough. I needed to act.
I helped cover Tiny’s veterinary bills, and because of that support, she went on to make a full recovery. Tiny survived. She healed. She was given a second chance.
When help arrives at the right time, lives can be saved.
Turning Inspiration Into Action
Tiny’s story is the foundation of Without Voices.
This organization exists to make that kind of impact possible again and again, not just for one animal, but for many. We exist to support rescues, shelters, veterinary clinics, and organizations doing the hard work on the ground. We exist to ensure that lack of funding does not become a death sentence.
I know my individual impact may be small. But I also know that when like-minded people come together, that impact grows. With shared purpose, transparency, and commitment, we can help animals who would otherwise never receive the care they need.
Our Purpose Moving Forward
Without Voices is about stopping cruelty, relieving suffering, and giving animals a second chance at life. It is about helping a desperate dog receive urgent medical treatment. It is about feeding hungry animals who have been neglected. It is about supporting companions whose families are struggling but still care deeply.
Most of all, it is about giving animals without voices a path toward safety, healing, and forever homes where they are loved.
This is why Without Voices exists. This is the work we are committed to doing.
